Situated inside the Palazzo Correale and known for its grand murals, Sorrento's Museum Correale di Terranova is especially popular and features an eclectic mixture of both Roman and Greek artefacts, together with some stylish Neapolitan paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries.

After you have spent time leisurely walking around the Museo Correale di Terranova and exploring the historic artefacts, then head outside and you will find some attractive landscaped gardens, along with tantalizing views across the Gulf of Naples. The Museo Correale di Terranova is located in the Palazzo Correale, a former palace once the home of a family of wealthy counts.

A number of important archaeological relics are housed within the Antiquarium Aequano, some of which date back more than 2,000 years. Highlights include Greek and Etruscan artefacts, along with various Italian exhibits of note. Although you are unlikely to spend very long in this museum, it is quite interesting and entrance is completely free of charge, making it all the more appealing to many.

The sheer detail and extravagance of the antiquities on display at the Museo Bottega make this one museum not to miss. Ranging from 19th-century furniture featuring beautiful marquetry work, to wallpaper actually painted by hand, the Museo Bottega is also home to beautiful frescoed vaults. The exterior view of the 18th-century building is also extremely impressive and very palatial.
